Fractal Maze - Game Template

Create recursive maze puzzles: a maze with smaller copies of itself inside it. Going through a door of a copy takes the player into the same maze, one level deeper, and its exits lead back out. Find the way from S to the F of the main maze, through as many levels as it takes.

This game template allows you to create games like Fractal Maze, Recursive Maze and Labyrinth.

Features

No programming required
Create fractal maze games without coding.
A maze inside itself
Every maze holds lettered copies of itself, and every copy has numbered doors in the same places as the numbered exits on the border. Going into door 2 of a copy puts the player at exit 2, one level deeper; leaving through an exit takes them out of the copy they are in. The picture zooms smoothly into the copy and back out, and the frame and a breadcrumb always say how deep the player is.
Generated, then edited
Pick the size, the number of copies and exits and a difficulty, and a maze is generated whose shortest solution is as long as the difficulty asks - then change it wall by wall.
Level editor with a solver
Draw walls, place and move the copies, add exits, move the start and the finish. The editor solves the maze as you edit it: it says whether it can still be finished, how many copies the shortest way goes into, and draws that way where each part of it really happens, inside the copies inside the copies.
Keys levels deep
Coins, gems, clocks and keys. An item can exist at every level of the maze or only at one - a key that is only there two copies down - and the editor checks that it can actually be reached there.
Undo and hints
Each maze can let the player take back the last door, and show the way to the next door on the shortest route to the finish, from wherever they are.
Mazes and records
Create any number of mazes, with a time limit or without. Every one keeps its best time, its fewest copies entered and its best score.
Sounds
Footsteps, walls, going into a copy and coming out of one - lower the deeper the player goes - keys, the wrong finish, the clock, generated as the game is played. Choose their style, volume and pitch, and which events make a sound.
